Professional Singer, Piano & Guitar Player

Alex Pascu

Acclaimed musician Alex Pascu is one of Canada’s most versatile and experienced recording artists with over 30 years as a singer and also as a violin, guitar and piano player. His strong tenor voice flowing like quicksilver across five octaves has enabled him to not only explore classic opera and belcanto music genres, but also jazz, pop and rock. In September 2015, Alex Pascu released his first classic jazz album “My One and Only Love” in Toronto, Canada. He is currently preparing the launch of his second album, a fine collection of belcanto favourites.

The innumerable awards and prizes won at music festivals, and also his  collaborations with opera and operetta institutions in Europe and Canada, attest to Alex Pascu’s status as a high-class musician.

Alex Pascu’s musical career began at the age of seven, when he started studying violin and piano at the School of Music and Arts in his hometown, Bucharest (Romania). After graduating university he teamed up with various composers in Bucharest, taking part in numerous pop music festivals, radio and television broadcasts. At the age of 24, Alex got hired as a tenor at the Operetta Theatre in Bucharest, after only one year of studying with renowned classical music teachers Mirela Vlad and Maria Hurduc.

After five years of touring Romania and all western Europe including Germany, Austria and Norway, in 2000 Alex Pascu moved with his family to Canada, where he went on to work with the Royal Opera of Canada in Mississauga, Ontario.
